All Time & New Favourites

17:37

I wanted to do a post on my favourite products since I never do posts like this. Honestly, I think I've made one in the past. I don't know what it is, but I feel like monthly favourites are so silly because they're short term favourites. I'm not interested in that. I want to know about products that have been loved and used for several months and several year(s). And since I felt like I have a good number of products that I've loved for a while, I wanted to talk about them... So here we go!

Jurlique Skin Balancing Face Oil ($58: Sephora)
The best way I can describe this oil is food for your skin. It is very lightweight but extremely hydrating. The ingredient list in this oil is amazing, containing nothing funny or harmful. Avocado oil, Calendula extract and Jojoba Seed oil are just one of the very many beneficial ingredients it contains! Personally, it moisturizes my skin and leaves it smooth. I like to apply this oil in the morning, I will only use it at night if I feel that my skin needs an extra dose of hydration. My skin is naturally dry, so I will also add a drop of this oil into my foundation. I have been using this Jurlique Oil for a year and have seen the improvement it has caused in my skin.

Sonoma Rose Hip Seed Oil ($10-$40: Amazon, I bought mine at Winners)
This oil has changed my skin. This year was the year I discovered Rose Hip Oil and just how good it is for the skin. Its a very hydrating oil that is full of vitamins and antioxidants which are vital for humans. When I was reading up on this particular oil from Sonoma, I discovered that the rose bushes used in the oil, are grown in Chilie. Also, this oil is great for correcting dark spots, reducing scars and fine lines. If you are looking for an extra dose of hydration, you can combine Rose Hip Seed oil with a moisturizer. When I do wear it with another product, I like to give the oil time to absorb before applying another cream or oil. This Rose Hip Seed oil has been in my routine for a year and I love how hydrating it is to my skin.

MAC Face & Body Foundation (120ml $44 MAC)
Face & Body foundation is my favourite foundation that MAC makes. This is a water based formula that is great for all skin types, especially if you are on the drier side. It is very light with a sheer coverage. I love to wear this foundation when I want to give my skin a break or when I'm going for more of a natural, no makeup type of look. Face & Body is perfect for mixing with other products. I love to mix this with my oils, liquid/cream bronzers and highlighters.

YSL Touche Eclat Foundation ($64 Sephora)
Touche Eclat foundation is such a creamy and luxurious foundation. When I apply it to my skin, it doesn't feel like a foundation, but a rich moisturizer. This foundation is a medium coverage and it is perfect for those who have normal to dry skin. I have the old formula, so I cannot speak on the new one. With this foundation you will get radiant skin! This is my second bottle of this foundation so I really do love it.

Illamasqua Skin Base Foundation ($37 Beauty Bay - Not including customs)
Skin Base is an old favourite of mine! This foundation lasts quite a long time for me because a little goes a long way. I would describe the formula as light but creamy. It blends really easily and it is quite the perfecting formula. And when I say "perfecting" I mean that it looks like you're erasing any imperfections as you are applying. It has a medium coverage that can be built up to full coverage. Skin Base is made for all skin types. However, I like to add a couple of drops of oil to it, just because I am dry.

NARS Laguna Liquid Bronzer ($52 Sephora)
This has got to be my favourite bronzer ever made! Being a liquid bronzer, it is really soft and gives an effortless and natural tan. The consistency is light and creamy and you can apply this directly on the skin or mix into your foundation. The colour is so perfect, I am able to use this all year round. The bronzer contains tiny gold flecks which look beautiful on the skin and do not disrupt any other makeup. I've been using this for almost a year now and I will continue to repurchase this when it runs out!

Benefit Hoola ($36 Sephora)
I like to use Hoola to set my NARS liquid bronzer to ensure that my tan lasts all day! This bronzer has a really beautiful colour to it, which is why I love it so much. I love that it doesn't contain an orange or red tinge to it. It looks very natural and blends really well. The powder is so smooth and has a soft texture. Hoola will compliment a lot of skin tones from someone who is very fair to someone like me, who has a medium skin tone.

Kevyn Aucoin Sculpting Powder Medium ($57 Sephora)
Oh this is something I'm really obsessed with! Ladies and gents, this is the best contour powder I've experienced! I have been using this for a while now and love it just as much as I did when I first tried it. The formula of this powder is beautiful- light, smooth and easy to blend. If you are someone who likes a light contour, this is perfect. If you are someone who likes a heavier contour, it is still perfect. The colour is not too cool where it looks like it's going to be grey, and not too warm where it seems like you're using a bronzer. I know it comes with a steep price but I can tell you that I don't use any other contouring powders. Also, I have had this for almost 2 years and it still looks like it's new- a little goes a long way!

MAC New Romance Blush ($33 MAC)
I don't know what it is about this blush, but I love it so much! The colour of it is very natural with a flattering and luminous rose like flush. It has a warm mid-tone pink colour that is perfect for every day use. This blush is a mineralize formula, so it is buttery soft! It is great for anyone with sensitive skin and it never looks patchy.

Essence Make Me Brow Eyebrow Gel ($3 Shoppers)
Best brow gel award! Seriously, from the formula to the price, it is perfect. The gel holds the shape of the brows in place all day long. The formula is light and the brush is small which I prefer. Just buy it and try it, you won't be disappointed!

MAC Beaming Blush & Show Gold Extra Dimension Skin Finishes ($38 each, MAC)
These highlighters are the newest editions to the MAC highlighter family. I am so obsessed with them. They are holographic highlighters with amazing colour and payoff. And you don't have to stick to just using them as highlighters... I sweep these beauties on my eyes as eyeshadow! I'm not going to go into too much detail about them, I want to do a separate review once I get one more shade. Just know they are gorgeous and you should try them!

Touch In Sol Metallist Liquid Foil & Glitter Eyeshadow ($28 Sephora)
This product is unreal! I remember when it was available in my local Sephora and just how fast it sold out! I love this product for several reasons. One of those is that it is super to use and you don't have to be a makeup artist to know how to apply it. It is double ended, one side contains a metallic base and the other contains a chunky glitter. You can wear both products on the eye and it will look magical, or just the metallic base if you want a more natural look. I wore this so much during the summer when it was too hot to wear a bunch of makeup on the face. I can't wait to try out the rest of the shades!

MAC Reflects Teal Glitter ($26 MAC website or MAC PRO store)
Reflects Teal (& Reflects Antique Gold) are the best glitters MAC makes! I used and abused this beauty so much this year. This is a very fine milled glitter that you can wear alone or in combination with something else. If you do combine it with another eyeshadow, it will make your eyes look magical. I am so obsessed with this glitter that I also apply it to my face as a highlight and it's equally stunning. Whether you are a makeup artist or a makeup lover, you will have so much fun with this product!

Just an fyi, all prices are Canadian!
